Neighborhood Game Night!

Santa Cruz Black is enthused to announce our October Neighborhood Game Night! Hosted at the Resource Center for Nonviolence, join us for a fun night of competition and community. There will be classic games like spades and dominoes and get ready to test your status as a local with Santa Cruz-themed Family Feud!! Light food and beverages will be provided.

The first session of the Antiracism Book Circle: All About Love by bell hooks:

Last Tuesday, the first session of the Antiracism Book Circle occurred via Zoom. The group is facilitated by Dr. James McCray and is centered and created specifically for BIPOC identifying males. The group is looking forward to our next upcoming session. Luckily for those who were not able to make it to session one, it is not too late to join! World Arts Fest 2022!

Over the past 8 years, the Tannery World Dance and Cultural Center has been dedicated to bringing rich and creative cultures together through dance and music at their bi-annual World Arts Festival! We encourage all who are able to attend on October 15th from 12-5 pm! Come and enjoy this celebration of art, culture, and some delicious food from vendors!

Dancing in the Street: Music of Motown

The celebration of culture through music does not end with the World Arts Fest! From 7-9pm on October 15th the Cultural Arts & Diversity Resource Center and the Department of PPD will be presenting “Dancing in the Street: Music of Motown”. It will be free admission for all so make sure you don’t miss this opportunity!

The Resource Center for Nonviolence has been serving the Santa Cruz community since the late ’70s. The RCNV has been a space for us and countless others to use to promote social justice. We will be honoring the legacy of social justice at none other than the Resource Center for Nonviolence with a traditional Mexican banquet, food, live music, and a guest speaker!
